Ciprus Limited, LLC Announces the Commissioning of the 2nd Edition of The North American Market For Professional Power Tools – Multi Sponsored Study
December 15, 2016 Ciprus Limited, LLC, an Essex, CT based market research and consulting firm, announces the completion of the 2nd Edition of The North American Market for Professional Power Tools.
The nearly year-long research consisted of detailed telephone interviews with 1,200 contractors in the U.S. and Canada. Contractors were interviewed in 7 specialties including plumbing & heating, HVAC, residential GC’s, commercial GC’s, remodeling electrical, and industrial maintenance. Contractors were also interviewed by size within each type, small, medium, large and very large in the U.S. and small, medium and large in Canada.
Charter Subscribers had input into the research design including the specific questions asked and thedesign of the sample plan.
The study documented contractor purchases of 19 cordless and corded power tools including batteries, drills and drill drivers, hammer drills, impact wrenches, recip saws, circular saws, jig saws, portable band saws, screw guns, grinders and cutoff tools as well as combo kits.
Sales of the power 19 tools captured power tool sales by brand and by the sales channel through which the contracting establishment purchased the tools including catalogues, contractor/building supply, hardware retailers, HVAC supply, industrial supply (STAFDA), Internet, lumberyards, mass merchants, plumbing supply, electrical supply, Home Depot, Lowes and farm & fleet.
In addition to unit sales for 2016 the study captured battery voltages, battery technologies, motor technology, chuck size, blade diameter, grinder diameter and nail gun gage.
The study also captured brand selection factors the value of “Made in America”, favorite brands and reason for changing purchase channels.
