Team Biographies

John S. Ciprus is founding Partner and Managing Director of Ciprus Limited LLC. With over 30 years of corporate marketing and sales positions, Mr. Ciprus founded Ciprus Limited in 1986. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President of Smith Stanley & Company, a leading marketing research and consulting firm based in the Greater New York area and serving Fortune 100 clients. 

As Managing Director, Mr. Ciprus has expanded the firm’s base of experience and knowledge in the building, design and construction industries by developing comprehensive multi-sponsored research endeavors including Exterior Residential Cladding, Commercial Flooring, Contract & Residential Upholstery, Light Gage Steel, Commercial Flooring Maintenance, and Professional Tool Accessory Market Potential. The firm is known internationally for its research capabilities in these areas. 

As a Project Director, for the firm’s proprietary consulting assignments, Mr. Ciprus has been instrumental in assisting clients with new product introductions and market entry feasibility, strategic planning and capital investment decisions for wide range of construction products. During his 30 year marketing research and consulting career, he has worked with leading Fortune 100 companies including Dupont, Solutia, BASF, St. Gobain (CertainTeed), Johns Manville, Alcoa Building Products, Owens Corning, Louisiana Pacific, Milliken and Company, Senergy, James Hardie Building Products and many others.

Mr. Ciprus is a frequent author and contributor to industry journals including Interiors Magazine, Upholstery Design and Manufacturing, The Wall Street Journals and others. In his spare time he is an avid tool junkie, an old house restoration specialist and an avid kayaker.

He holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a BS degree in statistics from Ohio University.
