Ciprus Limited, LLC Announces The Commissioning Of The Fourth Edition Of: The 2005 North American Market For Contract Flooring

Summer 2004 - Ciprus Limited, LLC an Essex, Connecticut based market research and consulting firm announces the commissioning of the fourth edition of its study of the multi-billion dollar contract flooring market. The original study was published in 1991, the second edition in 1996 and the third edition in 2000.

The research will determine the market size of all contract floor surface materials, the replacement cycles for these surfaces and well as document all significant trends.  Completion of the project is slated for the end of fourth quarter, 2005.

The study, the most comprehensive of its type, will cover all contract flooring surfaces currently in use in the United States and Canada. These surfaces include all carpet and carpet tile according to fiber type, hard surface materials (such as ceramic tile, marble, granite and agglomerates), resilient sheet, tile and rubber, plastic laminate, wood flooring, conductive flooring as well as cove base and others.

The research methodology includes the completion of over 1,800 telephone interviews with flooring specifiers in all types of commercial buildings in U. S. and Canada and  the United States.  In addition, the company is planning to conduct over one hundred personal interviews with key decision makers in the commercial flooring industry to document emerging trends such as toxicity, changes in commercial purchase patterns, environmental concerns and other issues that are expected to have a dramatic impact on the industry over the next five years. 

The written report is expected to contain over 800 pages of charts including replacement indexes and replacement incidence for each type of flooring surface. The study further analyzes the replacement market by size and by type of establishment and geographic region. With this fourth edition, the study will also provide a 14 year overview of the changes which have occurred within the industry.
